Dear You,

It’s a timeless tale, and if you recall the season finale of The Hills Season One, its a glamorous one too.   LC was presented with a career furthering opportunity, to hit Paris for the summer.  But instead of going, she decided to play house with her boyfriend Jason, who soon after became her ex-boyfriend.

Girl chooses guy over career.   And when the opposite happens, she’s always looked at as a cold-heartless bitch, cuz if there’s one thing that’s WORTH IT, its love, right?

We already know that love ain’t all cupcakes and fairytales and as seen in Lauren’s case, it ain’t always the right answer either.

There’s difference between holding me down, and holding me back.    I’ve been in relationships where both happen and the line between the two is blurred.    I have good people in my life who hold me down.  They remind me of who I am when I forget.  They make me focus when I lose track, and they never ever ever stop me from doing anything that makes me happy.

I’ve said it before…  choose your tribe wisely.   The people closest to you can kill your dreams with their good intentions but ultimately, you live for you first.

What sets your soul ablaze?   And is there anyone in your life trying to squash your fire?   If you answered yes, you may need to reevaluate.

And yeah, if you think I’m talking directly to YOU, I probably am.   But it ain’t nothin’ I haven’t told you already.  Just sayin…  think about it.

I finished it a couple of months ago. You guys touch on the same concepts, especially with the whole tribe thing. “The people closest to you can kill your dreams with their good intention,” I couldn’t agree more.
