Your lungs fill up with life giving oxygen, and you exhale unnecessary carbon dioxide. You breathe in exactly what you need, and breathe out shit you don’t. Think about that for half a second. Marinate on it, swish it around in your mouth. Now tell me, isn’t that shit kind of amazing? Your body INVOLUNTARILY sustains your life. You don’t have to think about it, you don’t have to actively tell yourself to inhale. You just…. ARE.
In and out. In and out. In and out.
Your soul kind of does the same thing. Close your eyes. Can you see it? It takes in exactly what it needs to, and keeps out all the shit you don’t. Notice how your soul is satiated everytime your son hugs you? Or how about that feeling you get when you discover a part of yourself that you never knew existed? That right there, is your soul breathing.
In and out. In and out. In and out.
It happens. Your soul replenishes itself without warrant, exactly when its needed. Knowing that your soul makes its own chicken soup. It makes the shitty days not so shitty, don’t it?
Close your eyes and just let yourself breathe.
